MC Media Sheet APC (24 hour) Aerobic Plate Count

SKU: MC
Supplier: Merck (view all products)

A novel dry sheet culture method  for rapid enumeration of total viable count.

This rehydrated plate system comprises an adhesive sheet, nonwoven fabric coated with nutrients, and two types of water absorption polymers.

In addition, APC 24 hour facilitates methods for both rapid count (rapid mode: 24-h incubation) and accurate enumeration (standard mode: 48-h incubation) because it not only contains conventional 2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride but also contains two kinds of new tetrazolium salts for rapid and accurate enumeration of total aerobic count.

The MC-Media Pad® APC is designed for convenient and rapid routine testing of microbial contaminations in your food and beverage products or environmental monitoring. The pads are coated with a growth medium and chromogenic substrates for specific detection allowing faster results and improved readout. When the sample is applied, the liquid spreads evenly on the pad by capillary action. No additional working steps are required, improving the workflow and reducing the risk of contamination. The transparent cover film can be easily opened and closed with one hand, and the color coding ensures that you can always pick the right one at a glance. MC-Media Pads® comply with international standards (AOAC, MicroVal) and are quality controlled with strain selection according to ISO 11133.

Benefits of MC-Media Pad:

  • Save space in your fridge and incubator with these stackable Media Pads
  • Go green & gain: reduce your environmental impact by reducing use of plastic petri dishes
  • Improve your inventory management with a shelf-life of up to 36 months
  • Comply with international regulations (AOAC-PTM, ISO, Microval)
  • No spreading device required – uses capillary action
