The former designation for von Willebrand factor was factor VIII-related antigen. Determination of von Willebrand factor is possible by rocket immunoelectrophoresis, but attention to experimental details is essential, thus ELISA should be considered a good alternative method. For the use of A0082 in ELISA, please see reference 1. A0082 is very well-suited as primary antibody for the specific immunohistochemical demonstration of von Willebrand factor (2).
